2012
The levels of copper and zinc were estimated in the saliva of 5 patients with oral lichen planus.
The values were compared with 6 normal age and sex matched control subjects.
Results: There was significant difference of the mean salivary copper and zinc levels of premalignant and malignant lesions when compared to the normal controls.
In the present study, we observed significant increase in the salivary copper and zinc levels in the premalignant group when compared to normal control group, which comprises submucous fibrosis, leukoplakia and lichen planus

To study the role of some trace elements in the pathogenesis of oral lichen planus : copper, magnesium in blood serum and saliva.
With increasing severity of the clinical course is observed a significant decrease in the level of copper

2018
Serum Copper (Cu) levels were found to be significantly increased in patients with Erosive lichen planus when compared to the control group. Furthermore, a progressive trend was seen in the levels of serum Cu with the increasing grades of OSMF.
Increasing levels of serum Cu in the progressive grades of OSMF can be used as a marker of disease progression and severity.

2021
In this study were involved 191 patients with various forms of lichen planus a violation of a permeability condition of the blood-tissue barriers for some mineral elements (zinc, copper, iron, magnesium), which is of importance in the pathogenesis of the disease was found
